MTDPrep ("we", "us", "our") is a pre-launch product operated from the UK. This policy explains what personal data we collect through mtdprep.co.uk, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We built this site to be a simple waitlist page, so the data we collect is deliberately limited.
Who we are
MTDPrep is an independent product built for UK sole traders and landlords preparing for Making Tax Digital. We are not a data processor for HMRC and are not affiliated with or endorsed by HMRC. What data we collect

We do not collect bank statements, financial records, or any HMRC-related data through this website. MTDPrep the product is not yet live — this site is a waitlist only.
How we use your email address
When you submit your email through one of our sign-up forms, it is sent directly to our email marketing provider, Mailchimp, and stored on a waitlist. We use it to:
- Let you know when MTDPrep launches
- Send your founders discount code
- Occasionally share relevant updates about Making Tax Digital or MTDPrep's progress
We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Ads to understand site traffic and measure the effectiveness of our marketing. These services may set cookies or use similar technologies to distinguish you from other visitors and to track ad conversions. This data is aggregated and used for analytics purposes — we do not use it to individually identify you.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may affect how the site behaves but will not prevent you from joining the waitlist.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of third-party services to run this site and process the data described above:
- Mailchimp — stores and manages waitlist email addresses
- Google Analytics — site usage analytics
- Google Ads — advertising conversion tracking
- Vercel — hosts this website
Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policies and may store data outside the UK/EEA under appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses).
How long we keep your data
We keep waitlist email addresses until you unsubscribe or until launch-related communications are complete, whichever is longer. Analytics data is retained according to Google's default retention settings, which you can review in Google's own privacy documentation.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data (for example, remove you from the waitlist)
- Withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time
- Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been mishandled

Children's privacy
MTDPrep is a product for UK sole traders and landlords and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site and product evolve — particularly once MTDPrep launches and begins processing uploaded documents. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "last updated" date.
